BestStart Omahu Road's Rimu Room have been exploring a significant interest in construction. Experiences range from magnetic towers, through to hut creations in both the indoor and outdoor environment.
We have been enjoying letter writing, as children show an interest in learning the letters to their name. In extending this, Kaiako have implemented a name chart wall with their photo, name and birthday, supporting their letter and name recognition, as their photo corresponds to their name.
Other opportunities of learning happening within Rimu include varying art experiences, dancing, climbing within the outdoor space, baby doll play, animal and nature engagements along with digitalbooks such as ‘The Hungry Caterpillar' and ‘Lava Song’.
