Our first Arabic Language Week focused on basic greetings, colours, words for animals and what the letters look and sound like. In the middle of the week we had a lunchtime feast to celebrate Eid (Eid al-Fitr was celebrated this year in New Zealand on Thursday 6 June 2019).

All whanau were invited to join us for a chicken biryani (or the vegetarian option) lunch at 11.30am on Tuesday 11 June to try traditional food eaten at Id al-Fitr or Hari Raya - the Festival of the Breaking of the Fast. Sweet treats are also eaten at this time, and many were eaten after lunch along with mango lassi.
