On Monday 17 July 2023, Best Start Railway Road came together for our annual Matariki celebration with our tamariki, kaiako and whanau remembering those who came before us and sharing our hopes for the future. We enjoyed the evening with our shared Kai and sang waiata and performed a dance having fun and korero with each other. As part of our celebrations we planted a mandarin tree which one of our centre fathers put into the ground... we look forward to its rich harvest in years to come. The tamariki weaved together a harakeke kite where we can all share our hopes and aspirations for the year ahead... please continue to add to this and share with us your dreams :) This has showcased our centre vision 'Learners Today, Leaders Tomorrow" and embraced our centres priorities of Whakawhanagatanga (connection and relationships) when we all came together for a common purpose, Mana Whenua (belonging) It was clear we are a unitied family where everybody is valued and has a place within our Best Start Railway Road community, and Manaakitanga (caring and respecting each other, our environment and what we believe) sharing a significant event through korero and Kai. Thank you to all who were involved, this has created special memories for along time to come.
