At BestStart Te Whariki in the prep room we pride ourselves on teaching the children life skills.  We teach the children respectful practices towards their environment, teachers, and peers by scaffolding there learning and interactions.  We often learn these things during group discussions, role playing, catchy poems and stories.

Through play the children also have a wide range of activities available that prepare them for school and life. The children have all 16 areas of play available to explore but construction and arts and craft are the favourites.

This month we have combined our interest in Māori books with an art project and together we created Maui and the Sun. Throughout this project the children gained a new information about culture, problem solving skills when working together as a group and a sense of pride in being a part of the project.

BestStart Te Whariki children are always excited to learn something new and show a lot of pride in their work and environment.  We provide a warm and friendly environment to all our families and children and love to meet new families so please feel free to come meet us.
