BestStart Te Whāriki

At BestStart Te Whāriki, we take pride in exploring the rich history of Lincoln, from its origins as a rural farming community to its growth into a vibrant modern town.

Through excursions, storytelling, and learning about historical figures, we introduce tamariki to local landmarks and the community’s resilience, innovation, and collaborative spirit. We honor Lincoln’s values of respect for the land and a strong sense of community, embracing principles like Whanaungatanga, Manaakitanga, Kaitaiakitanga, and Whakatoi.

Our center is a unique, multi-cultural space where diversity and inclusion are celebrated. With four age-specific classrooms, we offer an intimate, homely environment that ensures personalized care for tamariki. We focus on building strong partnerships with whānau through regular parent-teacher interviews, transition evenings, and engaging rituals like the classroom mascot bird that embarks on weekly adventures with tamariki. Influenced by RIE/Pikler and Reggio Emilia philosophies, our experienced and passionate team supports each child's individual learning journey.
