This month, the children from the Whare Kakano went for a walk around the local BestStart Lynmore community, ending up at a local playground. The younger children rode in wagons, while our eldest child walked alongside the kaiako, and helped us pull the wagons along. The children loved exploring a new part of the community, and greeting other pedestrians and animals as they passed us, and waving to vehicles as they travelled along the road. It was wonderful to see the children challenging their gross motor skills and displaying their courage and curiosity in a new context.
