We are proud that at Edukids Papatoetoe, all teachers, children, parents, families/whanau are acknowledged and respected for their different cultural backgrounds.

We invite our families and whanau to celebrate their cultural events with us to enlighten us more about their children. This month we celebrated Vaisakhi (Punjabi festival of harvest) and Easter. It was great to see everyone thoroughly enjoying and contributing. These celebrations help children to learn to respect their cultures and others.  Te Whariki 2017 (Early Childhood Curriculum) also states, “Learner identity is enhanced when children’s home languages and cultures are valued in educational settings and when kaiako are responsive to their cultural ways of knowing and being”.  We are so happy that this is one of the special features of our centre. Where everyone has a place.
