Diwali in the Piwakawaka Room
Last week in the Piwakwaka room (nursery 0-2), we had so much fun learning about and celebrating Diwali! We did some dye diya paintings. A diya is a small, traditional oil lamp from that is often made from clay or mud and the light is used to drive away the darkness, symbolizes the victory of good over evil. We used some flower petals to create some Rangoli art. We stuck the different colours on the duraseal, forming a pattern. These are on our front door to welcome visitors and for all to see our amazing art work. We had so much fun trying on all the different traditional Indian outfits in our dress up collection.
