April has been a busy month here at Tauranga Central.

We started off celebrating Easter and our Tamariki were all so excited to decorate the room, make their bunny ears and participate in different songs and dances that revolved around bunnies.

Our tamariki's favourite Easter songs were Sleeping Bunnies and Mr Bunny; they even perfected their dancing and showed off their performance. We even had our very own Easter egg hunt.

Next up was Anzac, which was very important to our centre. Ang led the way by explaining what Anzac was and why we celebrate/remember it. Our Tamariki learnt about the War and read a very special Anzac book.

We added to the Anzac celebrations by encouraging the tamariki to create their own poppies that decorated the room. Of course, we couldn't forget to bake some yummy Anzac cookies. The children loved this and learned that the cookies stayed fresh while they were sent to the men fighting overseas.

What an eventful month here at BestStart Tauranga Central. We love to celebrate and teach children the importance of remembrance and appreciation. It was a month full of laughter, knowledge and contribution, not to mention some yummy treats!
