In Ruma Awhi, tamariki have been exploring all things Easter!

Throughout this time, we have enjoyed reading a range of pukapuka (books) about Easter, going on exciting egg hunts, and creating a variety of Easter-themed crafts.

These experiences have provided meaningful opportunities for tamariki to learn through play while expressing their creativity and imagination in different ways.

During this period, tamariki have worked collaboratively alongside one another, strengthening their social skills such as sharing, turn-taking, and communication. They have shown growing confidence in working with their peers and contributing their ideas within group experiences.

Kaiako have enjoyed supporting tamariki in learning about Easter while also fostering the development of their skills, knowledge, and understanding of the world around them. Our tamariki love exploring the world using their senses, so kaiako have intentionally provided rich sensory experiences throughout these activities.

Tamariki have engaged in hands-on learning, exploring different textures, colours, and materials, which has encouraged curiosity, creativity, and active participation. Our small group sizes allow kaiako and tamariki to work closely together, ensuring each child is well supported to get the most out of their learning experiences.

This helps tamariki remain engaged, build confidence, and feel a strong sense of belonging within our learning environment.
