Eid Mubarak to our Muslim Whanau

The tamariki in the prep ruma have been really creative with the crescent moon, stars and the lamps for end of the holy month of Ramadan celebration. We feel It’s really important to celebrate diversity in our room and it creates a sense of belonging for all of our tamariki.

A little about the holly month of Ramadan, it usually starts at the start of the lunar moon cycle.  The moon is in a crescent shape and through its full cycle our Muslim whanau would fast from sunrise to sunset where they can eat again. After 30 days is over the moon is in crescent shape again and that’s when Eid begins for three days.
