Erupting Volcanoes at BestStart Montel Ave
Our tamariki (children)have been busy exploring science concepts! Today our wonderful kaiako (teacher) Mabel worked with the children to create an erupting volcano in our sand pit. The tamariki worked hard building the volcano with sand, working together to make it as big as they could. Mabel showed the children how to put in the ‘lava’ (red paint and baking soda) and then slowly add the vinegar to make it erupt! The tamariki were very excited by the ‘explosion’ and they all had turns adding more vinegar and learning about the reactions between different substances.
