This morning we rugged up nice and warm and off we went for a walk down by the Arrowtown river. It was great to get out into the community, and the children had a lot of fun looking at and exploring their surroundings. After a big walk around the track, we wandered back down Buckingham Street, and stopped off at Bendix Stables (Harriet's parents exciting new venture!) for a well-earned fluffy.

This month our planning is focused on 'Our Town, Our Community'. The wider world of family and community is an integral part of Te Whāriki, New Zealand's early childhood curriculum. It is our focus to ensure that over time, with guidance and encouragement, children become increasingly capable affirming and connecting links with family and the wider world; making connections between people, places and things in their world, which further supports children, and their whānau develop a sense of belonging in the early childhood setting
