This month we took our tamariki (children) on an exciting excursion to the Auckland War Memorial Museum to support their learning of construction and dinosaurs.  Our exploration of the museum included the Māori court, the Pacifica Gallery and of course the Dinosaurs.

Through this experience our tamariki are developing their identities as learners, gaining agency over their learning as they ask questions, discover answers and explore what interests them in the museum, further igniting their curiosity. They are developing, modifying and testing their working theories of construction and dinosaurs in particular. However, our tamariki are also extending their learning, thinking, and developing their working theories that extend beyond the centre and New Zealand as they make sense of the world around them, exploring not only taonga Of Aotearoa but also the wider world around them.
