Fun in the Sun in our new playground
It feels like summer has only just arrived in Oamaru and we are definitely making the most of it!! The tamariki of BestStart Oamaru Kindy have been getting out and enjoying our newly refurbished playground, new bikes and waterplay in both the sandpit and the water troughs.
The creativity in the sandpit is fantastic to watch as children work together to create cakes, coffee, pies, muffins and magic potions as they create concoctions of water, sand, leaves and bark chips.
The new bikes have tested the skills of our tamariki and are much loved by all. Children have been challenged by the new lumps and bumps created during our playground refurbishment and have enjoyed riding under our willow archway.
Our new playground offers many challenges to take risks, build our upper and lower body strength and gross motor skills as well as providing some enclosed areas which are transformed into homes, castles and ice cream shops.
