Rooooaaaaarrrrrr!!!! This is the vibrant sound that fills our Kiwi room this month!
With a deep interest in dinosaurs igniting curiosity among our tamariki, the team transformed our learning spaces into a captivating dino-inspired land. Bursting with books, fossils, pictures of various dinosaurs, puzzles, and much more, it invites exploration and discovery.
Throughout this month, guided by our dedicated kaiako, our tamariki embarked on an exciting journey of researching dinosaurs. They uncovered fascinating facts, like the incredible discovery of the largest dinosaur footprint, towering twice as high as themselves.
Our wonderful Centre Manager even brought in a striking poster of a fossilised T-Rex jaw that could fit them inside! These discoveries fueled a passion for reading and learning more about our prehistoric friends. As our tamariki's enthusiasm grew, they delved into the roles of archaeologists and paleontologists.
With imaginative play, they transformed into these explorers, carefully digging for our dino "fossils" in the classroom. They even crafted their own volcanoes and turned the sandpit into a thrilling habitat for their dinosaur toys, using leaves and branches provided by one of our kaiako. While our artistic tamariki channelled their creativity, crafting collages of Brachiosaurus, creating individual dinosaur footprints, saving dinosaurs entangled in tree vines, and painting their very own 3D dinosaurs.
Everyone is immersed in our dinosaur exploration, where the tamariki are fearlessly leading their learning, while all the kaiko rally to support them with unwavering dedication.
