Heatherington House Heroes
We all had such a lovely time together; it was wonderful to see the interactions between these two generations. The children climbed on the walkers and sat on the seats while they chatted, sang songs, looked over story books and their own personal learning profile books which they shared with pride. These learning profile books are very special books which document the children’s learning and interests. They are treasured by all and are a special book to keep forever.
The Hetherington House residents had brought with them a very special lady who is in the team who knits beanies for the children of Waihi. The Hetherington house ladies helped to wind up the wool into balls so Team Beanie could use the wool to knit the beanies! How very special!!! Each child chose their own beanie to keep. It was very touching and lovely to watch both the children of BestStart Waihi Kindy and the lovely women from Hetherington House share the excitement and love those wonderful ladies of Team beanie created with their knitting.
