Over the last couple of months, Herewini has been buzzing with excitement as our playground has undergone an incredible transformation.
What began as a construction site quickly became a source of daily wonder and fascination for our tamariki.
From the very first day, curious eyes were drawn to the diggers, concrete mixers, and busy construction workers who became regular features of our days. The children watched intently as the ground was dug up, shapes emerged, and familiar spaces slowly changed.
There were rich conversations, thoughtful observations, and moments of awe as they made sense of what was happening around them. These experiences supported curiosity, language development, and shared thinking as the children engaged deeply with the process unfolding before them. As the weeks went by, we watched our playground take shape piece by piece.
The space gradually transformed into an exciting new environment designed to inspire movement, challenge, creativity, and exploration. The anticipation grew with every change, and the sense of pride and ownership from the children was unmistakable.
Now complete, our upgraded playground is more than just a new space—it’s a place for adventure, discovery, and connection. We can’t wait to see the many ways our tamariki will explore, imagine, and grow within it.
