Excursions provide children with valuable opportunities to explore and learn beyond the classroom.

Exploring new places also promotes physical activity, independence, stronger relationships between peers and teachers, creating lasting memories while connecting learning to the community.

Excursion to Te Paeroa Reserve Our preschoolers and a baby joined teachers for a walk to Te Paeroa Reserve. The baby travelled in a pram, pushed by a teacher, while the children walked alongside their teachers and friends, carefully following footpaths, road safety rules and traffic lights.

At the park, the children explored swings, seesaws, climbing equipment and the merry-go-round. The outing supported physical development, coordination and confidence, while also connecting children with nature, fresh air and the sights and sounds of the environment.

Excursion to the Mobile Library, Bethlehem Shopping Centre Our preschoolers, aged 4 to 5, visited the mobile library bus. They enjoyed walking with their teachers, chatting with friends and exploring the library shelevs. Children chose books and spent time reading, developing literacy, independence and social skills while connecting learning to their community.

Excursion to Kmart, Bethlehem Shopping Centre Toddlers aged 2-3 explored the local shopping centre with their teachers. They walked safely, noticed their surroundings and had conversations along the way. At Kmart, children helped choose new resources for the centre, supporting decision-making, curiosity, teamwork and confidence.

These excursions combined fun, learning and real-world experiences, helping children grow physically, socially, emotionally and congnitively while fostering curiosity and a love for exploring their world by connecting with the community.
