What an incredible way to wrap up Plunket Appeal Week 2026 at BestStart Kelvin Grove!
This week was not just about fundraising—it was about community, connection, and coming together for a cause that supports tamariki and whānau across Aotearoa
Our BestStart Kelvin Grove vision is to be at one with child, whānau and community in action.
From the very beginning of Plunket Appeal week, our whānau showed up in the most beautiful ways. Our extended whānau generously sponsored us, families walked laps alongside their tamariki, and our wonderful Plunket nurses even joined the walk-a-thon.
We were also incredibly touched by the support of our Serenity Crescent neighbours, who donated and jumped in to walk a few laps too. The atmosphere was full of energy, laughter, encouragement, and aroha—it truly was the most successful, awesome, noisy, fun Butterfly Plunket Appeal walk-a-thon ever!
Our tamariki absolutely amazed us; with determination and enthusiasm, their little legs travelled an incredible 2.8 kilometres during the walk-a-thon. Thanks to the generosity of our community, BestStart Kelvin Grove has raised just over $2,000 for the Plunket Butterfly Appeal.
As a proud Plunket partner, every BestStart centre across Aotearoa commits to supporting this important cause—and we’re so proud to share that for 2026, BestStart Kelvin Grove is one of the top four BestStart centres in New Zealand for fundraising efforts this year.
We are so proud to be part of a whānau that steps up, stands together, and leads with heart through getting behind Plunket Appeal Week.
