We were lucky enough to have one of our neighbours pop in with some resources to make wooden cars. Tamariki (children) were able to engage their gross and fine motor skills as they carefully held the nail and hammered it into the wood to attach the four wheels onto the cars. Tamariki then got given two wooden animals that they carefully added eyes onto to drive in their cars, which we later worked together to dye them and add velcro so tamariki can change who is driving the cars as they drive them around the playground. It was such a special opportunity for our tamariki to get to engage with Ewen and learn new skills. Thank you so much Ewen for coming in and sharing your time, knowledge and resources with us we are very grateful and love playing with our new cars.
