One of our excursions this term was a hikoi to the library to watch Loopy Tunes Preschool music LIVE!

Loopy Tunes is very popular in the ECE community and especially in our centre.

These two beautiful wahine travelled around to small towns and performed their famous waiata to our tamariki. Our tamariki had so much fun on their little adventure to the library to participate in the Loopy Tunes concert for kids!

It was a hot day and our tamariki did so well on the hiikoi there and back! Our tamariki enjoyed some waiata and kanikani while at the library, and especially liked the bubble machines! This experience also shared literacy and numeracy learning with their popular songs, E rima nga manu, the Maaori alphabet, and Porowhita. These waiata are also very popular in our centre and our tamariki sung along so beautifully and showed off their actions.

We were so proud to be able to show our learning and development to the beautiful wahine that taught us the waiata, as well as the community. On the way back to the centre, the tamariki had a fun play at Thomas park, one of our local playgrounds.

What a wonderful experience for our tamariki to connect with our community, and engage in so much learning!
