Making Banana Muffins at Abacus

Making Banana Muffins at Abacus

Here at Abacus, we love to do baking, this month, in the Koru Room (Infants and Toddlers), we made yummy banana muffins, which we also got to eat for morning tea the next day.

This was a great activity to learn about patience as we waited for our turn to stir the mixture. Measuring the ingredients introduces our tamariki to early mathematics, such as capacity and number.

Mixing the batter develops their motor skills and coordination, and sharing this activity with friends allows them to take turns with each other.

Everyone was so excited to have a turn at mixing, and they tasted pretty good too!
