A small group of us headed to the shops.

Our first stop was at the pet shop to buy a new fish for our nest. Then we stopped at the 4 square to buy some oranges and bananas for afternoon tea. Local excursions are an effective way to support these learning outcomes.

Here are some benefits of local excursions
1. Developing a sense of identity: Local excursions allow children to explore their community and learn about the people, places, and events that make it unique. This experience helps them develop a sense of identity and belonging to their community.
2. Connecting with and contributing to their world: Local excursions provide children with opportunities to connect with their community and contribute to it.
3. Developing a strong sense of well-being: Local excursions provide children with a break from their routine, which helps reduce stress and anxiety. These excursions provide opportunities for children to engage in physical activity, which is essential for their physical and mental health.
4. Developing confidence and involvement in learning: Local excursions provide children with opportunities to learn in new and exciting ways.

This experience helps them develop confidence in their ability to learn and become involved learners. 5. Effective communication: Local excursions provide children with opportunities to communicate with different people, which helps develop their communication skills.
