Our annual trip to Butterfly Creek
This year, our whānau and tamariki embarked on an unforgettable adventure to Butterfly Creek. Our journey began with the Dinosaur Kingdom, where life-sized animatronic dinosaurs roared to life. The tamariki were thrilled to see these prehistoric giants up close, learning about their habits and history through interactive displays.
We then entered the Butterfly House, where we were surrounded by a vibrant array of butterflies. The tamariki were mesmerised by the sight of these beautiful creatures fluttering around, occasionally landing on their hands and shoulders.
Next was the train ride that winds through Butterfly Creek. The gentle chugging of the train and the scenic views provided a relaxing pause in our adventure. The tamariki loved waving to the animals and spotting different exhibits along the way.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the crocodile feeding show. Watching these powerful creatures in action was both thrilling and educational. The tamariki were in awe as the crocodiles snapped up their food, their jaws closing with a resounding snap. It was a jaw-dropping end to an already fantastic day.
Our annual excursion to Butterfly Creek was a resounding success, filled with exploration, learning, and bonding for our whānau. The tamariki left with smiles on their faces and stories to tell, and we all cherished the memories made together.
