The children were so busy this week at BestStart St Leonards Kindy, getting involved in lots of interesting and creative activities to celebrate Matariki.

These experiences included art, listening to stories about Matariki, planting seeds in containers for each child to take home to nurture into seedlings to plant in their gardens.

We were also lucky enough to have one of our parents join us to help the children make fried bread, and afterwards they enjoyed this for morning tea.

We finished off the week with sharing kai of vegetable soup also made by the children.
