Since we opened our door to the community, our tamariki has been busy with their learning along with their kaiako. The following are the highlights of their learning journey over the past months. Art In our Toddler room, our tamariki have been very interested in exploring our art space and bringing their creative thinking to life. This hub of activity has provided us with many opportunities for tamariki to learn alongside others, express their ideas, share knowledge, advance their working theories, and have fun!

From this, we have noticed a great sense of togetherness, confidence to contribute, and a great space to nurture new relationships. With such great outcomes, our kaiako have been busy adding more resources and experiences that our tamariki can explore freely throughout the day such as; recyclable materials, collage, sensory play (playdough, gloop, slime etc), scissors, pastes, water dye and so much more! Relationships In our infant's room, our tamariki have been nurturing new friendships and strengthening their sense of belonging as they play and learn alongside others.

Through observation and intentional teaching practices, our kaiako have been busy setting up an environment that sparks curiosity and reflects our tamarikis interests. As we continue to explore and learn alongside each other we are positively supporting emerging social skills, communication, confidence to express themselves, and collaboration. The mana of the tamariki  is enhanced through these relationships as they express kindness, caring, and affection.

Exploring nature In our preschool area, our tamariki have been busy learning exploring their natural environment, and extending their interest in insects. We have noticed that this mutual interest has sparked a great sense of curiosity and mahi tahi as we work together as a team to research, share knowledge and devise theories around our natural world. Our tamariki have taken the lead and have been actively searching for insects, setting up insect enclosures, and showing great manaakitanga as they care for them.

Our kaiako have been busy extending this mutual interest and incorporating new resources into our environment to stretch thinking and provoke new thoughts/ideas.
