At BestStart Fendalton we love to get out into the community. Today, our preschool went on an excursion to the library. Our current group learning focus is 'Construction' so we were hoping we could use the trip as a research opportunity and find some pukapuka for both kaiako and tamariki to use for research and learn alongside each other, as we are all akonga when it comes to this particular topic! Along the way we had some fantastic korero about different buildings we were passing and what materials they were made from. We even got the opportunity to explore some of the different textures of materials that the different fences were made out of.

This excursion sparked some fantastic wonderings from our tamariki and kaiako, and prompted us to want to get back to preschool and research even more about different materials buildings are made from.

Next week we have Bunnings coming to preschool to do a construction session with us, so watch this space!
