As part of our Matariki celebration and celebrating the seasons (our preschool group/room focus), we made some vegetable soup to share with our friends for afternoon tea. The vegetables were brought in by some of our beautiful families. Matariki is about caring and sharing with friends and whanau. We demonstrated this by sharing a shared meal all together as one whanau (preschool and prep tamariki).

Kirsten cut up some pumpkin, parsnip, potatoes and onion so we could take turns adding handfuls of them into the pot. Then we switched on the slow-cooker and waited patiently for it to cook. When it was soft, Kirsten blended up the soup to make it smooth and stirred in some coconut cream. Then we made pita bread crisps and joined the Prep school to eat our yummy soup
