Our preschool tamariki have been very busy this summer and we have had a huge interest in summer activities. This has led our tamariki to have lots of conversations about ice cream and how they like to eat them during hot summer days. Our preschool teachers decided to extend on this interest by making our very own ice cream shop. This sparked a lot of excitement and we got everyone involved in making our lovely sign and gave everyone a chance to sell ice creams to one another. We have seen children demonstrate leadership skills as they all took turns selling ice creams and also learnt about sharing and turn taking as they all waited for their turn. We loved getting our children involved in all aspects of this activity from making the sign, to selling the ice cream everything was led by our tamariki!
