Out into the community we go!
Last week we set off on a special excursion to our local supermarket to gather some vegetables for our delicious soup we were going to make as part of our Matariki whanau celebrations. We took a small group of children to Barrington Mall and visited Fresh Choice where we invited the children to select which vegetables they would like to go into our soup. Our children just love venturing out into the Barrington community and we are incredibly lucky to have such amazing recreational amenities close by.
Our eventful excursion provided many opportunities for children to make links between preschool, home and the wider community, while also learning about road safety. Excursions provide lots of wonderful learning experiences outside of the Preschool environment and allow children to develop a new skill set and make sense of the world around them.
