In the Pepi Taonga room we value our little pepi and their whanau as unique individual and the culture they bring with them to the room. We believe tamariki learn and optimize their potentials through strong bonds and relationships formed with people, things and surroundings.

Excursions to local parks provides a great opportunity for our tamariki to increase their understanding of the world around them and developing relationships and social interactions with others. We have got three parks that we go for a regular walk at BestStart Kilmarnock St.

On a nice and sunny day, we like to take our little babies for a walk visiting Riccarton House, Hagley Park or Mona Vale Garden, where we are able to sight different scenic views and learn about their unique history. It reflects Te Whāriki Mana aoturoa where children see themselves as explorers, able to connect with and care for their wider world.

Our tamariki love going down the road in our special four-seater prams and discovering what they can see and find in our community. We get super excited to see things we are familiar with especially cars, ducks, bird, trains, trucks and more! Outing experiences also enrich the relationships with whanau through involvement and korero (conversations) as we share children's learning experiences together.
