Resource Wise Schools Programme
We are passionate about teaching our children about recycling, reusing and composting. Our significant achievements since our 2018 waste audit we have actively:
Increased the landfill diversion rate from 34% to 51%
Increased the recycling rate of paper & cardboard from 90% to 95%
Increased the recycling rate of containers from 80% to 100%
Participated in regular beach clean-ups.
Gone the extra mile to take glass to the transfer station for recycling.
Introduced recycling stations throughout their service.
Reviewed their purchasing practices to include sustainable waste management.
We are now aiming to further reduce landfill over the next year and attend professional development on how we can do this better for our community to gain and uphold Stage 5 -Moa.
