Rippa Rugby Fever at Kindy Jones

We are so excited to share that since introducing Rippa Rugby, many of our tamariki have shown a huge interest and growing passion for the game!

Every day at kindy, we’ve been running training sessions twice a day as part of our outdoor play, and it has been such a hit.

Our kaiako Salendra and Arshdeep have been teaching the rules, demonstrating skills, and supporting children to practise safely while building confidence, teamwork, and lots of resilience.

What has made our hearts extra full is seeing how eager the children are, many of them walk through the kindy door and immediately rush outside asking for rugby training, ready to run, pass, and play alongside their friends and kaiako.

They have been so brave, determined, and proud of their progress… and honestly, we are super proud of them too! As their excitement continued to grow, our teaching team also offered free weekend training sessions on Sunday mornings at 7am.

Yes — very early! But it was absolutely awesome to see whānau and tamariki turn up with full energy and enthusiasm, training together with such passion. The vibe was amazing and the field was full of smiles, laughter, and little rugby stars in action!

Thank you so much to all the whānau who have supported this journey, we love seeing our community come together to encourage tamariki to be active, confident, and connected.
