To extend on this interest we set up a Sandpit Safari for our children to explore. We had a small tire with branches and leaves and small insects hiding in there. We had a tire with rhinos and elephants, and we had a small mountain with branches and leaves with more jungle animals. We also had the water trough set up with water animals - so much fun!

Children enjoy exploring different animal habitats with nature. Engaging in activities like these give us good opportunities to talk about different animals, how we treat them, what they might eat, what colours they are, where they live and what sounds they make - building on our children’s language development. Our children were super curious, especially with the tyres with bugs hiding in the branches.
