The children at ABC Mayfield made truffles and a card to say thank you to Carol for coming to visit us.
The children were involved in each step of the process for both the card and the truffles. When making the truffles they helped crush the biscuits with rolling pins, pour the ingredients into the bowl, mix it all together, roll it into balls and then sprinkle or roll it in coconut.
When making the card the children helped to cut out a dog, colour it in, glue it on, decorate the outside and then sign their name on the card if they would like to.
Through this experience the children were actively involved in preparing and presenting a gift to Carol who kindly came and spent time teaching us new skills. We talked about the reasons why we say thank you and the children shared information about how they say thank you to someone e.g drawing them a picture, saying thank you to them.
