Spring has brought colour, curiosity, and joyful learning to the Pūkeko Room. From creative art experiences to nature play and planting, our tamariki have embraced the season while growing their creativity, sensory skills, and connection to the natural world.

The Pūkeko Room has been bursting with colour, creativity, and excitement as our tamariki enjoyed a range of spring-themed activities. With the warmer days and blossoming gardens, we have been making the most of this beautiful season both indoors and outdoors.

Our curious learners have loved creating their own magic flower potions, mixing petals, water, and nature’s treasures to explore colour, scent, and texture. We also got artistic by painting wooden tulips, adding bright, cheerful hues that reflect the joy of spring.

Using colourful crepe paper, the children worked on spring collage pictures, gluing and layering to create a vibrant display full of flowers, rainbows, and butterflies.

Outside, laughter filled the air as we made giant bubbles using a hoop. Watching them float and wobble in the sun was pure magic.

To finish our spring adventures, everyone helped plant new flowers in our hanging baskets. The tamariki showed great teamwork and care as they scooped soil, patted it down, and watered the plants.

Through these activities, our Pūkeko tamariki have been developing creativity, sensory awareness, and a love for the natural world, celebrating the wonders of spring in every way.
