Samoa Language Week / Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa was Sunday 24 May to Saturday 30 May. The theme for this year is 'Tapena sou ōso mo lau malaga' which in English means 'Prepare yourself a gift for your travels'.

Covid-19 did not limit us this year, BestStart Stokes Valley celebrated with a lot of dancing and even joined in a live Samoan language week Zumba class. The tamariki also explored Samoan art and focused on learning new words and songs at mat times and throughout the day. A very popular activity this year was looking at traditional dress, exploring children's questions and looking up when and why they wear their traditional dress.
