In BestStart Rongotai, we believe that our children can contribute in their own learning. In setting up the environment, we always consider their interests, background and their knowledge. By intently observing the tamariki, we are able to design our learning spaces and provide developmentally-appropriate resources everyday.

Our tamariki are able to appreciate the environment because we base them in 8 schemas: transporting, trajectory, enveloping, transforming, connecting, rotating, positioning and enclosing. We understand that they are all different and unique and that's the reason why we always develop ways in ensuring that the 16 areas of play are implemented daily. We also believe that our tamariki deserve beautiful set-ups and provocations.

With these, they are motivated to come to school, play nicely with friends and create wondeful things as well. We also use their creations in designing the environment; thus creates a warm and safe atmosphere that welcomes them daily. In addition, our tamariki also help us in making sure that the resources are respected and used appropriately. The environment is our third teacher. Thus, we ensure that our third teacher takes pride in what she does.

Ka pai to all kaiako who puts effort in making our learning environment stand out!
