The PJ Project
At BestStart Ponsonby, giving back to the community sits highly on our list of values. We see this as valuable learning for our little people as they learn empathy and compassion for others. We hope that this is the beginning of a lifelong journey and enjoyment of serving their community.
Recently, BestStart Ponsonby supported the Kindness Collective in support of their "PJ Project". We had a centre-wide PJ Day filled with lots of fun activities. We also asked for our families to donate a pair of new PJ's and with this, we collected over 50 pairs of PJ's! We loved being able to support such a good cause and get all of our families involved. We are very thankful and humbled for the incredible support that our families have shown us.
Our children were pleased to know that 50 children would now be able to go to bed in warm and clean PJ's. This was the topic of conversation during many lunch times as we discussed what it might feel like to not have warm, clean, and cosy PJ's to be able to sleep in. We were very proud of our children as they navigated their thoughts around those less fortunate than themselves.
