TOCK the robot comes to visit!
Kia ora, This month we had TOCK the robot come to chat with the tamariki and us.
TOCK is a loveable time travelling robot from a sad future with no animals, no insects and very few plants. He recently came to visit us here at Best Start Ferry Road to tell us his story. During our session, TOCK told us stories from the future and shared his knowledge around how we can demonstrate kaitiakitanga – guardianship – through making small changes to the way we live our everyday lives. Here at Best Start Ferry Road we are embarking on a sustainability journey alongside our tamariki and whānau.
This visit from TOCK was such a wonderful chance for our tamariki to begin this journey and experience some hands-on learning in a fun way! They were able to share some of their own knowledge as well as walk away with new ideas around recycling, reducing our waste, and reusing old items to make some pretty cool new treasures!
Our planet is a very special place and with the help of TOCK, our aim is to inspire our tamariki, Kaiako and Whānau to care for our precious resources so they can be enjoyed for many generations to come.
