On 5 June, Tall Oaks Seniors embarked on a meaningful excursion to our local Buddhist temple to explore and appreciate the rich culture within our community.
The children enjoyed a 10-minute walk to the temple, taking the opportunity to observe their surroundings along the way. They noticed different landmarks, discussed what they could see, and shared their thoughts and ideas with one another.
Upon arriving at the temple, the children were welcomed into a peaceful and culturally rich environment. They explored the temple grounds with curiosity and respect, asking many thoughtful questions about the statues, symbols, and traditions they observed. Their interest and enthusiasm demonstrated a genuine desire to learn more about different cultures and beliefs.
A highlight of the visit was watching a documentary about Buddha, which helped the children gain a deeper understanding of Buddhist values and teachings. The experience encouraged meaningful conversations and supported the children in developing an appreciation for diversity and different ways of life.
As we walked back to the centre, the children continued to reflect on their learning, sharing their observations and new knowledge with their peers.
This excursion provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with our local community and foster cultural awareness through real-life experiences.
