Whakawhanaungatanga creates whanautangata.
Whakawhanaugatanga is the processes of manaakitanga and hospitality that create Whanaungatanga. Whanaungatanga is about forming and maintaining relationships and strengthening our community ties. This value is the essential bond that binds us together at Te Atatu Road, providing the foundation for a sense of unity, belonging and cohesion.
This unity, belonging, and cohesion is reflective of our culture, which allows us to create strong partnerships with all our tamariki and their whanau as well as create learning experiences authentic to the child’s interest, age and stage.
Our Kaiako have noticed how our surroundings can take life of their own and contribute to the children’s learning as children are perceiving and using space to create their own meaning. The space for our infants and toddlers is calm and nurturing, which enables our pepi to naturally unfold in their own time.
We have a new outdoor playground in the preschool side which develops working theories for making sense of the natural, physical, social and material worlds as well. The preschool tamariki will also learn new strategies for active exploration, thinking, and reasoning, and more importantly, gaining confidence in and control of their bodies.
Nga manaakitanga!
