Over the past few Mondays, we’ve been staying inside to make the most delicious muffins for afternoon tea.
Everyone gathers around the kai table, where the ingredients were carefully laid out in front of us. It was such a special moment to see how eager and excited you all were to help.
We took turns tipping and pouring the flour, sugar, and baking powder into the mixing bowl all of which Kaci had carefully measured out beforehand to make sure everything was just right.
What I loved most was how you each wanted turn after turn, showing just how much you enjoyed being involved in the process. It was wonderful to see everyone patiently waiting for their turn.
As we mixed the ingredients, the sweet smell of blueberries and batter began to fill the room, and the anticipation of tasting the muffins grew stronger. You all followed instructions so well, which made the whole experience even more fun and rewarding.
I can’t wait to make this a more regular time with our tamariki. It will be so special to watch their skills grow as they become more familiar and confident with our new Monday tradition of making the most delicious afternoon tea snack.
