Here at BestStart South Road, our set for school room have had a huge interest in science with the big question of “what happens when….” floating around our classroom and our outdoor environment! Our little scientists have been hard at work experimenting and giving these processes a go, seeking information as they learn, revisiting their learning, and finding out a lot of new and exciting things that promote their collaboration and communication with their peers as they work alongside each other. Our tamariki have found interests in science through the exploration of experiments, painting, water, and baking.

These experiences foster their curiosity and encourages exploration, allowing them to ask questions and seek answers through hands-on experiences. This process builds critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they learn to make observations and draw conclusions in the world around them. These experiments instil a love for learning and empower our tamariki to approach new challenges with confidence. We see confidence as a huge part of a successful transition into school, where our tamariki know they can give things a go, work alongside their peers, know their learning and contribution is valued in their learning environment, and ask questions!
