On Thursday, 21st August, BestStart Pinnacles held our very first Art Auction – and what an incredible success it was!
Our centre was filled with colour, laughter, and pride as tamariki proudly showcased the beautiful masterpieces they had been working on over the past few weeks.
The event was more than just an auction; it was a celebration of creativity, learning, and community spirit. Families were able to admire the children’s art, enjoy light refreshments, and most importantly, support our tamariki by bidding on the pieces they had poured so much love and effort into.
Art is a powerful learning tool for young children. Through painting, drawing, and creative exploration, tamariki develop fine motor skills, strengthen hand-eye coordination, and learn to express their ideas in new ways. Creating art also encourages problem-solving, decision-making, and patience as children experiment with colours, textures, and techniques. Most importantly, it gives them a sense of pride and accomplishment, helping to build confidence and a love of learning.
A huge thank you goes out to our amazing teachers for helping tamariki prepare their artwork and to our families for embracing the event with such positivity. We are already looking forward to making this an annual tradition!
