BestStart Bay Kindy

BestStart Bay Kindy is located on Welcome Bay Road, just a short distance away from Welcome Bay School and a 5-minute walk to the local parks. We provide award-winning childcare and early education for children aged 2-6 and are open all year round from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm.

At BestStart Bay Kindy, we aim to prepare children with the skills for lifelong learning and active citizenship, which is supported through our centre philosophy and focuses on forming relationships, aspiring to achieve, and showing care & respect for one another. 

We believe different cultures should be celebrated and we take pride in our multicultural centre. We engage in regular cultural celebrations and traditions and often welcome families to join us for whānau events. We also aim to implement excursions into our learning to support tamariki to become active members of the wider community.

Our Set for School programme is interwoven throughout our curriculum to help prepare children for the next step in their learning journey and support their transition to primary school. Our 16 Areas of Play are offered in our centre each day to support each child's development and we empower children to lead their own learning.

Our Team

We are a diverse, tight-knit team of passionate teachers dedicated to your child's holistic learning and development. We all have different backgrounds in early education and bring different experiences to our teaching methods. We create individual learning plans and work alongside whānau through open communication to update you on your child's development.

Our Spaces

We have one classroom where we provide award-winning early education for children aged between 2 and 6 years old. Our age-appropriate resources help children learn essential numeracy and literacy skills while forming relationships with future primary school classmates. Our outdoor spaces allow children the freedom to explore, be physically active and learn through play.
