Ready for Learning, Ready for Life
“Mā te reo, te ahurea me te hapori ka tipu te tamaiti hei kaitiaki mō āpōpō.”
Through, language, culture, and community, a child grows into a guardian of tomorrow.
At BestStart Bay Kindy, we pride ourselves on our inclusive learning environment and teaching practices that cater to the learning needs of all tamariki, providing them with skills for lifelong learning and active citizenship in their communities. This is supported through our key learning priorities of tumanaakotanga (aspires to achieve), whanaungatanga (reciprocal relationships) and Kaitiakitanga (the act of guardianship/leadership).
We believe every child’s culture, language, and identity are the heart of their learning journey. That’s why we love celebrating a variety of cultural events that bring together our tamariki, their whānau, and our wider community.
We’re proud to partner with our local kura, Welcome Bay School, where our tamariki take part in the KickStart programme, as well as helping them grow in confidence through BestStart's Set for School programme which blends Te Whāriki and the New Zealand Curriculum through 16 fun, play-based areas of learning.
Every day, tamariki explore their interests while developing early literacy, numeracy, science, art, and wellbeing skills — all in a way that feels natural and exciting. No matter their age or stage, every tamaiti is welcomed into our Bay Kindy whānau with open arms.
