BestStart Buchanans Road

At BestStart Buchanans Road, your whānau becomes our whānau. Located in a new subdivision on the outskirts of Hornby and Hei Hei in Christchurch, we are a welcoming early learning centre where every child is valued as an individual. Our kaiako get to know each child’s unique strengths, interests and developmental needs, tailoring their learning and care to support them throughout their early childhood journey.

• Individualised Learning and Care: Every child learns and develops in their own way. Our kaiako plan learning experiences around each child’s interests, strengths and developmental stage, helping them build confidence and a love of learning.

• Learning Through Play: Our child-led early learning programme follows the interests of individual children and groups. Kaiako encourage and extend children’s play, creating opportunities to explore new ideas, develop important skills and have fun.

• Set for School: Our Set for School programme helps prepare tamariki for the transition to primary school by building confidence, independence and essential skills. Regular visits to the local school across the road help children become familiar with the school environment and feel more confident about their next learning adventure.

• A Diverse and Inclusive Community: We celebrate the rich diversity of our Hornby and Hei Hei community and believe every child and whānau brings something unique to our centre. We foster a sense of belonging where everyone feels welcome, respected and included.

At BestStart Buchanans Road, we provide a caring environment where tamariki can explore their interests, build meaningful relationships and grow in confidence as they learn and develop.

We’d love to welcome you and your whānau to our centre and be part of your child’s early learning journey!
