The Nursery Room includes a cosy, safe nest for our youngest infants. In the Nursery, our pēpe (babies) are able to form strong attachments with the teachers who care for an nurture them, creating bonds that support the value of whanaungatanga, relationships and connection.

Our toddler room allows children to explore their new found independence as they discover their voices and their feet. This space is thoughtfully designed for inquisitive toddlers who need a safe space to roam freely. The activities and learning opportunities are inspired by toddlers interests and thoughtfully planned and implemented by the teachers. This room has its own outdoor area so these learning opportunities can extend to the outdoor environment too.

Our teachers support and encourage your children to become independent, confident and capable learners through learning experiences that support their natural urge to play and explore.  The development of this age group is considered through the purposeful design and set up of their classroom, and with a shared outdoor area with their older peers, they also benefit from tuakana teina and learn from one another. This all helps support our tamariki to be independent, confident and ready to become the leaders of the centre.

The Prep Room offers a Be School Ready initiative with extension experiences that prepare children for their transition to primary school. We have good relationships with our local primary school and visit with our Prep Room children to help familiarize them with the school setting. 

With a classroom set up specifically with this age group in mind, the children here are able to lead their own learning , take risks and explore both independently and with extension and further challenge from their teachers.
