Discover our unique rooms

Our centre features well-resourced indoor areas and a spacious, well-shaded outdoor environment designed to inspire exploration and growth at every age.

Our environments for our younger tamariki are calm, well-resourced indoor areas and shaded outdoor spaces that allow for safe sensory exploration, while our environments for our older children are structured yet flexible learning spaces that promote independence, social growth, and engagement in our dynamic outdoor program.

Pipi Room(0 - 1 years old)

The Pipi Room is a calm and nurturing space designed to support our tiniest tamariki through every exciting milestone. We ensure each child receives the attentive care they need as they move from lying down to sitting, rolling, crawling, pulling up, and eventually walking.

Within this room, the pace is gentle and comforting - a warm, welcoming environment where familiar routines provide security and confidence. Our large outdoor area invites curious exploration, while the close proximity to the Tuatua Room allows little ones to observe, interact, and learn alongside their older friends in a natural, inspiring way.

Tuatua Room(1 - 2 years old)

Named after a larger Pipi shell, the Tuatua Room is a natural next step in your child's learning journey - a space where independence blossoms and confidence grows.

Our kaiako support tamariki as they take important steps towards self care, such as drinking from an open cup and feeding themselves. Transitioning to stretcher beds for rest, children enjoy a cozy, warm environment filled with age-appropriate learning experiences designed to encourage curiosity and skill-building.

The dedicated playground offers a safe, engaging space tailored just for Tuatua tamariki, where they can play while keeping an eye on their younger Pipi friends nearby and look forward to joining their older peers as they grow.

Totorere Room(2 - 3 years old)

In the Totorere Room, tamariki deepen their early social and emotional skills in a supportive environment designed to encourage growing independence. With a dedicated team of three kaiako, children engage in both free exploration and structured learning, including group activities and mat times tailored to their age and stage.

Sharing a large outdoor play area with Papatai and Paua, Totorere tamariki enjoy a vibrant community where friendships flourish across rooms. Here, curiosity and collaboration

Papatai Room(3 - 4 years old)

In Papatai, learning is a dynamic blend of child-led exploration and intentional teaching, where tamariki are encouraged to take the lead while kaiako thoughtfully guide their growth. Through group play experiences, children continue to develop their social and emotional skills, building confidence and forming strong friendships.

With the freedom to choose between indoor and outdoor play, Papatai tamariki are busy learners who have fun expressing themselves through dress-ups, family play, storytelling, and art. Outside, obstacle courses challenge their coordination and strength, helping them grow physically in a safe and exciting environment.

This vibrant space invites children to imagine, create, and thrive every day.

Paua Room(Preschool)

The Paua Room is our 'Set for School' space, where tamariki build the foundations for future learning through a balanced mix of structured mat times, engaging learning activities, and, most importantly, play.

Children develop essential early literacy and numeracy skills, along with problem-solving abilities, all woven naturally into everyday experiences. Social skills like cooperation, communication, and leadership are encouraged through group work and shared responsibilities, helping each child grow in confidence and resilience.

While learning becomes more focused, play remains central - a joyful way for tamariki to explore, express themselves, and deepen their understanding of the world around them. Every Friday, our Paua children enjoy a special lunchbox day, a fun and practical way to get ready for the school routine ahead.

Mindfulness and emotional regulation are key priorities, with activities designed to nurture calm, focus, and self-awareness. We work closely with whanau to support smooth transitions, celebrating milestones and achievements along the way.

This welcoming environment ensures children leave feeling capable, confident, and excited for their next big step in their learning journey.

Outdoor

Our outdoor environments are natural and spacious to allow children the freedom to explore, socialise and learn through play.
